Frequently Asked Questions

What are the daily living expenses in South Korea?

On a strict budget, you can spend as little as £20 per day including food and local transport. However, this depends on how often you eat out and how much money you choose to spend on entertainment choices. Food in Korea is the biggest expense but the more local food you eat, the cheaper it is.

Do I need a degree to teach in South Korea?

No. We have a teaching option for graduates and a teaching assistant option available if you don't hold a degree.

Is transportation provided from accommodation to work?

Transportation is not provided by schools. This will be at the teacher’s own expense but is relatively inexpensive. In most cases, teachers either live within walking distance of the school or a short bus ride/train ride away costing anything from £1.80 - £4.00 return per day.

How safe is South Korea?

Extremely safe. Like anywhere else it is recommended that you remain alert; however, South Korea is a relatively safe place for both men and women to be alone. It has been ranked as one of the top 20 safest countries in the world and Seoul (the capital) has been ranked the 8th safest city in the world.
